Have you ever been to Google? I’m not talking about the website, I’m talking about the actual head quarters. I have, all because I had some friends that were security officers.
It’s a real exciting place to be. From the great (and free) food, to the play rooms, all the way to the endless amounts of snacks, Google is a great place. Successful
To walk around, one must check in, just like other high profile places. Every section had a lobby with a check point and security. Of all the things that I remember, there us one thing that stood out.
They had screen in every lobby that displayed live searches. It was kinda creepy, knowing that our searches were being displayed. Overall, above the creepiness, there was something that stood out. It was the search terms people were using.
You found funny searches. You saw private searches. But the one that caught my attention was that people continual searched for “how to” websites.
Whether it was about cooking your favorite meal to building a shred to business principles, people were looking for information. This taught me that people use the internet as a source of help.
People use the internet to MEET NEEDS
With that thought, I want to help you understand that your success in online business has a direct connection to the amount of help you others. Does that mean we are to give hands outs? Absolutely not. Rather, we are to give a hand up.
If our business helps people with their needs, then we have a legitimate reason to be compensated.
Who wants to work for free their entire life?
After all, shouldn’t Christians just give away everything? Well, how can you give that which you don’t have? Beside that, there is a Biblical principle in regard to earning:
For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
~ 1 Timothy 5:18
God teaches that, if one puts in the labour, then he its worthy of gain.
So the question is, what are you doing to meet needs? Your business must keep your audience in the forefront.
But aren’t you in business to make money? Absolutely! There is more to the equation. Understand that the ways of God are different than the ways of men. If we put others first, leaving ourself last, then there will come a day reading when God brings a harvest. Read what Christ preached about placing others first:
But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
~ Mark 10:43-44
Here are some sobering questions one must ask if they are to truly MEET NEEDS:
- Do your products, services, and affiliate promotions truly help your audience?
- Is profit the only thing that motivates you?
- Have you ever wanted to be helped, only to turn around and charge people?
- Do you truly have interest in your audience, or is you interest only in your bank account?
